Useful Resources (Links)

Periodicals
  • The Lutheran Magazine
The Lutheran is the magazine of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The magazine is a four-color monthly whose job it is to bring news of the church — local, national and international — to you, the ELCA member. We strive to explore our Christian faith on a personal, congregational and worldwide basis through stories that educate, inspire and nurture faith.
  • Lutheran Woman Today
Lutheran Woman Today, the magazine for Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, offers an exciting mix of faith-in-life articles, theological reflections, devotions, and human-interest stories of comfort and challenge that lift up the mission of Women of the ELCA: to mobilize women to act boldly on their faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Seeds for the Parish
Seeds for the Parish is the ELCA's resource newspaper sent to congregational leaders six times a year, without charge. Each issue contains articles about resources that can help congregations in their worship, service, and ministries. Typical issues have stories on resources available from churchwide units and Augsburg Fortress for worship, youth ministries, Christian education, stewardship, evangelism, social ministries, and leadership. There is a regular column on resources that can be found on the World Wide Web.

Life Help
  • Youth and Anxiety: How to Help
It is a fact of life that our youth are living in an increasingly anxiety ridden atmosphere. Youth (and adults) live in a world in which nothing seems to be guaranteed with certainty but the love of our God. That explains the increasing prevalence of anxiety in our world… and the daily opportunities for caring, healing and witness among youth who are struggling to understand, cope and live with hope.
  • Search Institute
Raising caring and responsible teenagers. Search Institute is an independent, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization whose mission is to advance the well-being of adolescents and children by generating knowledge and promoting its application. At the heart of the institute’s work is the  framework of 40 developmental assets , which are positive experiences, relationships, opportunities, and personal qualities that young people need to grow up healthy, caring, and responsible.
