"Hello and Welcome", from Pastor Tracy!
"May you find the presence of Christ, now and always."
Pastor Tracy began his ministry at St. Stephen’s on July 1, 2010.
He is a second-career first call pastor who entered into ministry after two successful careers and
over 20 years of experience as a lay minister.
Pastor Tracy’s call to ministry really began in High School when
he attended an Evangelical Christian church and became very active in the youth group. Like many
people, Pastor Tracy left the church during his 20’s, but soon realized there was something missing
in his life. It was only after a divorce and career change that he responded to God’s call and
returned to the church. Pastor Tracy and his new wife Kathi joined St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in
Hacienda Heights, California. There Pastor Tracy became involved in various ministries including
youth ministry, Church Council and Worship committee chairman. For almost twenty years Pastor Tracy
functioned as a lay minister, assisting with worship and functioning as substitute worship leader
and preacher from time-to-time. Finally in 2004 Pastor Tracy answered the Lord’s calling and began
the process to become an ordained Lutheran pastor. He received his Master of Divinity degree from
Luther Seminary, St. Paul, Minnesota, June, 2009.
Pastor Tracy was called to St. Stephen’s as Pastor in May, 2010.
He feels this is a perfect fit for his ministry gifts and passions. St. Stephen’s is a vital faith
community that desires to learn more about the Triune God and our relationship with Him. Pastor Tracy
sees his role as a teacher, a coach, and a motivator helping followers of Jesus Christ to become
life-long disciples of Jesus Christ.
As Pastor Tracy says, "St. Stephen’s is a community where
Jesus is Lord, everybody is somebody and faith is living in God’s grace!"
Come and join us in this adventure!
