Contemporary (Praise) Service

| The
Celebration (Praise) Service is designed to be especially "user-friendly" to first-time
worshippers-many of whom may not be familiar with traditional Lutheran worship. |
|
| With a relaxed,
"come-as-you-are" atmosphere, the service begins with energetic music led by our Praise
Team. he messages have roots in the life of the Old Testament people and Good News of the
Gospel of Jesus Christ found in the New Testament Church. Sermons are geared to preparing us
to live in the real world. We are reminded about three wonderful blessings from our
faithful God which are the Father’s Love, the Holy Spirit’s Comfort, and the Savior’s peace.
Following "Bible Story Time" children age 3 through early
elementary may go to "Kids' Church." |
| If you
grew up listening to pop or rock music on the radio, then this will most likely be your “heart
language” when it comes to singing in worship. You are sure to be comfortable with a "worship
team" up front. A worship team looks like a band with drums, bass, keyboard, guitars and
singers. But don't be fooled - this is no performance. Worship is a full participation
experience. The worship team is there to worship God and to encourage you to worship with
them. |
| We
believe there are many ways to praise the Lord and encourage folks to step out and worship Him
in various ways. You will see folks raising their hands, clapping their hands, and some
just being quiet in the presence of God. Jesus said that if He were lifted up from the
earth, He would draw all people to Him. That is why we lift Him up in praise and
worship. As we praise, He draws people by the Spirit to a saving knowledge of Jesus
Christ. This scripture and principle goes even further. We are told that Jesus is
seated at the right hand of the Father. As we praise and worship Him, we are lifted from
where we are to those Heavenly places with the Lord. |
|
|
When
attending service, you can expect to hear an inspiring sermon from the Word of God.
Sermons are geared to bring the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and preparing us
to live in the real world. Scripture is a valuable tool in direction, correction,
and encouragement. |
| During the
service, we pray for every need presented, whether it be salvation, healing, financial
problems, or whatever is requested. |
|
| We offer Communion every
Sunday. The Lord's Supper is an open communion. All
believers in Jesus are welcome regardless of denominational background. |
