| Sunday morning is a
time of joy & celebration. |
| The
Traditional (Liturgical) Service will be familiar to Lutherans from all over the US.
We use liturgy from the Lutheran Book of Worship, you know the LBW. If this is new to you,
"liturgy" simply means that we follow a standard order of services in which the
pastor and congregations sing or speak specific phrases back and
forth or together. |
| The
liturgy has roots in both the Old Testament and in the Good News in the New Testament. Sermons
are geared to preparing us to live in the real world. We are reminded about three
wonderful blessings from our faithful God which are the Father’s Love, the Holy Spirit’s
Comfort, and the Savior’s peace. |

During this service, our pastor wears
special clothing called vestments. These garments cover the individuality and emphasize
the sacred duties of the office.
Throughout the course of the church year,
an appointed order of readings and prayers helps the congregation focus on the major
events in the life of Christ and how those events affect us today. |
|
| We stand at
various points in the service to express reverence and devotion to the almighty Triune God.
Pastor makes the sign of the cross over the people, and some of those in the congregation may
sign themselves with the cross at various times as well. (This practice is optional) |
|
| We offer Communion
on the 1st & 3rd Sundays of each month. The Lord's Supper is an open communion. All
believers in Jesus are welcome regardless of denominational background. |
